Take action

I saw a child about 3 or 4 years old a while ago at the stadium, his dad was coaching some students on cardio and they were stretching so much you’d think they have no bones in them.
The child was somewhere a bit close to them but I noticed he was imitating every step his dad was teaching the students and I was marveled at how effortlessly he was trying to do those steps and his zeal.
That made remember how zealous and fearless we were as children. We believed we can do all things, not minding we could get hurt in the process, we took our first step, even when we fell down severally but we stood up and took another step until we mastered walking.
Our parents were our cheerleaders, they encouraged us till we became better but as we tried more adventures, they start to caution us so we don’t hurt ourselves and then we learnt to be careful.
Being careful is good, some of us have even become overly careful that we limit ourselves from utilizing our true potential because we overthink every single situation so much so that we spend the better part of our time in our thoughts leaving little or no time for to take action. I used to be one of those people that have process of the entire work in their heads, I mean I know the steps to take and all that but the problem is it is only in my head, I never get to take action. Some of the possible reasons for not taking action are:
FEAR;
I was someone that failing hurts so much, I was so afraid to fail that I never try anything I was skeptical about. The fear of “if it doesn’t work” practically limited me. But I failed to realize that my not doing something because of the fear of it not working the way I wanted is worst than actually doing it and failing. Failure is not bad, as a matter of fact you learn something each time you fail.
PROCASTINATION;
I will do it later but later never seems to come, that’s how procrastination keeps someone in a cycle and this cycle could go on for years, five years, ten years or even an entirety but you never realize that the reason for this is not just laziness but also fear has contributed to why you defer an activity.
IMPERFECTION;
Some people are perfectionist. If they have to do something but feel like they are not good enough to do that thing, they will not do it but this is a limiting factor because the more you do something the better you get, that is meaning of the adage “practice makes perfect”. How do you become perfect without taking action?
Whatever be the reason why you are not taking the necessary action you need to take should be pushed aside. Think of that child whom in spite of being fragile and not knowing what his dad was doing kept stretching so he would be as good as his dad. The world does not pay you for what you know, it pays you for what you do. The universe rewards actions.
