Overview
Our client operated a large-scale 3D printer farm consisting of hundreds of printers, each with varying nozzle sizes, color materials, and other technical properties. Manual scheduling, order tracking, and printer management had become a major bottleneck—causing delays, resource wastage, and operational inefficiencies.
We were brought in to design and build a complete automation system that would streamline operations, integrate with their ERP, and make the entire printing process intelligent, scalable, and almost hands-free.
Key Challenges
Diverse Printer Capabilities: Each printer had unique specs—nozzle size, color/material type, and supported file formats.
Complex Scheduling Needs: Jobs needed to be optimized across printers to reduce idle time and meet delivery deadlines.
Disconnected Workflow: Orders came from multiple channels (ERP, manual entry) and lacked centralized tracking.
No Real-time Visibility: Manual monitoring led to delayed issue detection and limited operational insight.

Our Solution
We developed a custom automation platform that turned the chaotic printer farm into an orchestrated production line.

Also allowed manual order creation via the interface for custom or one-off jobs.

Users could upload G-code files for supported models.
The system analyzed job requirements (color, nozzle, duration, etc.) and automatically created an optimized schedule across all available printers.
Scheduling engine prioritized throughput, material usage, and deadline compliance.
📈 Real-Time Monitoring & Analytics
Live dashboard showed printer status (idle, printing, error) and job progress.
Immediate alerts for errors, jams, or completion, so operators could intervene quickly.
🔔 Automated Notifications
Operators and admins received instant notifications via email or SMS if something went wrong.
This minimized downtime and helped maintain consistent output.
