The requirement was to build a NFC card based loyalty program software for a Auto Garage chain in the United Arab Emirates. The project was conceived as a responsive web app to reduce the cost and complexity.

We picked Laravel as the framework of choice and used Vue 3 in the frontend with Inertia. For styling Tailwind CSS was used.

We considered many different approaches to interface NFC cards with the web app. For our use case, Web NFC API turned out to be the best bet.

The limitation was that we had to specifically use Chrome on Android to access the api. Even thought initially it was planned to use Android Tablets for the same, it turned out that there are not a lot of them in the market that supports NFC.

So we had to go with Android phones, but that turned out alright since the app was responsive. And for admin tasks apart from reading and writing NFC cards, the desktop layout worked well.
