The project was created as a collaboration between artists and celebrated writers, resulting in a series of personalized fairy tale books published in Belgrade in 2026. Among them is The magic arrow, a story written by Gordana Miletic that follows the adventures of a young girl named Magdalena, who takes center stage as the main character.

It all started with an interview with young Magdalena. As the illustrator, my role was to capture her essence in raw sketches, which I then translated into a character design used throughout the entire book. For this age group, I chose a style inspired by classic Disney animation, featuring oversized heads and big, expressive eyes, since young children naturally connect with highly stylized, playful characters.

I chose a whimsical style with a vibrant color palette to bring the magical world of children's imagination to life. By combining masks, rich textures, and loose brushstrokes, I wanted to create a hand-drawn feel and avoid the generic, sterile look of typical digital illustration.
