ABSTRACT. The rise of insecurity as lead to various form of aids towards combating this issues. This study seeks to examine the influence of foreign aid on the security landscape in Borno state, Nigeria, spanning the years 2015 to 2023. It investigates how foreign aid programs have contributed to strengthening security measures and addressing challenges within the region. Utilizing a qualitative research design, the study adopted a secondary data sources with data gotten from previously written literature. The Oxfam model was adopted as it’s theoretical framework, which explains needed for aid as a collaborative effort of both aid donors an recipients towards a collective effort (Security), it employs a grassroots methodology that priorities needs-based strategies, and it has undergone a transformation from delivering emergency aid to people affected by disasters to offering sustained development assistance. The study finds out that foreign aid are of great importance in enhancing security in Borno state. The study recommends that there should be transparency and accountability in aid distribution , investing in education and awareness programs, and international donor coordination should be streamlined to ensure a cohesive and effective approach. This study stands as a valuable resources for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners seeking a deeper understanding of the dynamics of foreign aid and its impact on security in conflict-affected regions.
