I worked as a news reporter for the Nigerian money and financial markets, public and private sectors of global economy. The job was done hybrid, with few occassions of covering stories in person.

This feature article was a personal project at a time when I was reflected on my appreciation of the African sound. As the year began, many nigerian afrobeat artistes dropped differet projects.

In the mindst of that, I oddly missed old-school sounds. Researching for historical references and writing to share my own thoughts, I inadvertently connected with half a thousand readers on a personal level.
