Self-directed project for Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design graduating exhibition.
Siren was inspired by my interest in sustainable fashion. I created the fictional, independent clothing label to be inspired by whimsey and playfulness, while also keeping the planet clean.
The branding identity was inspired a lot by smaller designers, like Gem The Label. I played around a lot with ‘breaking’ the font and creating a ‘tail’ out of the curve of the S.
Originally, I was to illustrate the patterns, print them on fabric, and make two dresses out of them to display at the exhibition. Unfortunately, time and budget got in the way, so I used my contingency plan - purchase mockups online. This way I could still display the intended use of the patterns I’d created, without failing to meet the deadline.
Siren is an branding identity that incorporates both the whimsey of storybooks, and the ‘clean, modern aesthetic’ made to appeal to its target audience.
