"In Our Mothers' Gardens" 2021 Netflix Film

"In Our Mothers’ Gardens" is a documentary directed by Shantrelle P. Lewis which celebrates the strength and resiliency of black women and black families through the complex, and often times humorous, relationship between mothers and daughters. The film is distributed by Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY and available on Netflix in select countries.

I was brought onto a team of global contributors by the director (Shantrelle P. Lewis) to bring her vision to life. Together, we worked on collages that fitted her artistic direction for the film. These collages included portrait art pieces for selected participants in the documentary, as well as film vignettes that served as artsy borders to frame some video interviews.
