ICOMMD is a lifestyle app created as a digital companion for the Islamic Center of Owings Mills community. The application was designed to bring members of the center closer to their community, culture, and faith through a central digital hub that keeps users connected to events, prayer times, spiritual resources, and more.

The goal was to transform how community members stay informed, spiritually engaged, and connected in a single, easy-to-access mobile experience.

Community centers often face challenges in keeping members informed and engaged:

Traditional communication channels such as bulletin boards, email, or in-center announcements lack reach and timeliness.

Members miss timely updates about prayer times, events, and activities.

Spiritual resources like recitations, teachings, and video content are scattered across platforms.

The client needed a centralized, mobile-first experience that serves both as a resource hub and a daily-use tool for community members.

We delivered a responsive, polished iOS application that consolidates the most vital community information and tools into one place. ICOMMD focuses on delivering spiritual utility, real-time notifications, and easy engagement for users of all ages.

Community Event Notifications Users receive push notifications about upcoming mosque events and activities, increasing awareness and participation.

Prayer Times & Alerts Nimaz (prayer) times are available in-app, with customizable reminders for the five daily prayers and optional notifications to support spiritual routines.

Qibla Direction Tools An integrated compass feature helps users identify the correct direction of prayer, adding real-world utility beyond static schedules.

YouTube Channel Integration The app connects directly to the community’s YouTube content, letting users discover videos, lectures, and recitations without leaving the platform.

Audio Recitation A built-in reciting feature enables users to listen to Holy Quran verses and spiritual content uploaded by the center administrators, supporting both learning and personal reflection.

Streamlined UI & Performance Enhancements Updates focused on improved usability, intuitive workflows, and enhanced visual design to make the experience both practical and engaging.
