ParentDB – Secure & Engaging Parent Community Platform

ParentDB is a private and secure platform designed to help parents connect, communicate, and stay engaged with their school community. The platform offers a parent directory, event sign-ups, communication tools, and content sharing to enhance PTA participation and school involvement.

The goal of this project was to develop a user-friendly, scalable, and secure web platform that simplifies parent communication while increasing PTA membership and engagement. The client wanted a seamless experience where parents could look up other parents, join events, and receive updates effortlessly.

Requirement Analysis & Planning: Conducted detailed discussions with the client to define key features such as directory management, event sign-ups, and secure communication.

Full-Stack Development: Used Next.js for a responsive and interactive frontend, along with Django for a robust backend, ensuring data security and efficient processing.

User Authentication & Privacy: Implemented secure authentication, allowing only verified parents to access the platform, ensuring privacy.

Event & Membership Management: Developed an intuitive dashboard where parents can join PTA, renew memberships, and register for events with ease.

Testing & Deployment: Conducted extensive testing to ensure smooth performance across devices before deploying the platform.

Increased PTA Membership: Schools using ParentDB saw a rise in PTA participation due to the simplified online registration process.

Enhanced Parent Engagement: The platform made it easier for parents to connect, post updates, and stay informed about school events.

Improved User Experience: A seamless and intuitive design reduced friction in navigation and boosted platform adoption.
