For a client that offers a roof-leakage-monitoring solution to its end-customers, i architected and implemented a Microservice that checks weather forecasts for heavy rain, snow events. The microservice gets runs twice a day and checks the weather forcast for the next couple of days for thousands of customers locations. If it detects a upcoming heavy rain event for example, the end-customers get alarmed that something is coming their way and they should take precautions. As the customer only had quite limited pre-set resources available in its choice of deployment, this was one of the challenges tackled.
