Project Overview
PSV approached me to create a 2D animated explainer video based on their Figma storyboard for a SaaS product showcase. The goal was to design a visually engaging animation that could run seamlessly on a loop at a conference kiosk without audio while clearly communicating the product’s value proposition.
Objectives
Translate static Figma storyboard into a dynamic animated explainer.
Ensure pacing allowed text and UI scenes to be easily readable.
Incorporate creative motion design aligned with PSV’s references.
Deliver a polished, conference-ready video under a tight timeline.
Process
Kickoff & Storyboard Review
Reviewed PSV’s storyboard and brand assets via Figma and Google Drive.
Confirmed video length (~60–75 seconds) and no background music (silent looping kiosk use).
First Cut & Feedback Cycle
Delivered the initial cut for first impressions.
Feedback was collected via Figma comments and later migrated to Trello for structured revision tracking.
Revisions & Iterations
Slowed pacing for better readability of text/UI.
Fixed asset-loading issues and QA’d against Figma frames.
Incorporated motion references from PSV (e.g., Sierra.ai style).
Delivered four progressive cuts, each addressing detailed feedback.
Collaboration & QA
Used Trello to manage “In Progress” and “Done” tasks for smooth collaboration.
Implemented a thorough QA process before each submission to reduce revision cycles.
Final Delivery
Delivered the final MP4 animation.
Provided options for future short-form content creation from the main animation.
Challenges
Tight Timeline: Had to balance quality with speed to meet the client’s conference deadline.
Detailed QA: Required multiple rounds to ensure every frame aligned with Figma references.
Silent Delivery: Needed to rely purely on visuals (without music/VO) to hold attention.
Results
Delivered a clean, professional SaaS explainer animation in time for PSV’s conference.
