Overview 🔎
The project was undertaken by me during a 3 day UX Design Challenge - “PERFECTION IS A MYTH”. Under this challenge, we were asked to pick an app we believe is perfect.
Now this where it all began. The challenge was to identify the problem and then create an appropriate solution for the same.
The App I chose was Google Chrome for Android.
Problem & Solution 🤝
Now, The Problem was the belief that the app was perfect. Thus to find the Problem areas Principles of Heuristic were used. Based on the data gathered, Problem Statement was coined. Then the problems were verified with the users.
PROBLEM
1] Clusters OR Groups not labelled OR marked are ineffective and are thus unable to serve their desired effects
2] Common actions USED due to force of habits, results’ in unwanted output as the desired gesture/action is missing
3] Steps user need to complete tasks can be reduced by adding commonly used actions/gestures.
HEURISTIC EVALUATION

PROBLEM VALIDATION
After the problem areas have been identified, it needs to checked with the users if its a problem worth solving or if its even a real problem.
Data from 17 users was collected on the basis of 5 precise questions. Of the 17, 76% of the users (13 users) cooperated with us till the end.

Design were brought to life and workable prototypes were created. Before final launch, the prototype was tested by the users and their feedbacks were analysed to find if any further changes need to be done.
Takeaways 📣
You can always learn something form Everyone and Everything.
No matter how popular or widely used a product is - Always ask the user, if he use the product or if he is familiar with product or not.
User may get stuck/ find issue with pre existing elements you havn’t redesigned.
