This was a project for client Source Korea that deal with Kitchenware. {Faucets, Sinks, etc} I was tasked to put their upcoming products into realistic settings.

My workflow begins with loose sketching to allow creative freedom and easier client revisions. As I sketch (glorified word for "put object here other object here") I'm leaving cameras all over the place as potential candidates for the final shot.
I try not to put too much work into the composition of one camera because I don't know if we'll use said camera.

It's the same issue with lights. I also scatter them around. This scene had perhaps 3 suns? And one HUGE thing I learned from this project was to iterate my lighting setups. If I decide on one, I'll forget how I got to it and be endlessly unsatisfied in the attempted reconstruction of my genius.
I try get a result quickly. And then freeze it in time incase I or the client wants it back
Wasn't too happy with the highlights clipping. Would tighten post production workflow in future

Weekly Updates

Environments can be are the most time consuming element of my design due to extreme iteration. But I tried to insist upon it for easier flexibility down the pipeline. Think for instance on, adjusting the camera angle, getting a feel for a specific area to focus on, global illumination (Like how sunlight bounces from the walls to reflective surfaces)
Felt a little thankless to go through because then so much gets cut out for the final shot. But I'm glad I did the leg work.
