1980s Film Aesthetic Visual Sequence

For this project, I used CapCut AI to explore how far I could push visual consistency across a sequence of generated images.

The idea was to create a scene that felt like a continuous moment from an old 1980s film: the same character, the same supermarket aisle, the same wardrobe, lighting, color palette, and analog texture but captured at different moments of the action.

I started with a simple concept: a man shopping in a retro supermarket, shot as if it were captured on 8mm film in the 1980s. From there, I refined the prompts around a few key elements: warm fluorescent lighting, high-contrast film tones, grain, light leaks, period styling, and a consistent cinematic framing.

Instead of treating each generation as a separate image, I approached them as consecutive shots from the same scene. In one frame, the character browses the aisle; in another, he reaches for a product; and in the closer shot, he stops to read the packaging.

The main challenge was keeping the character, wardrobe, location, and overall visual language consistent while changing the action and camera distance.

The final result works as a short visual sequence rather than a set of unrelated AI images closer to a storyboard or a series of stills taken from the same film.
