Film Production
I worked as the Assistant Director for two short films in 2023, one for my Senior thesis project and the other with other recently graduated UW-Madison students. In both I honed my creative project management skills, film production knowledge, and team leadership.
Key Challenges & Experiences:
Developed a 2-week production schedule and expertly coordinated the availability of over 20 crew members, cast members, and vendors.
Completed and filed daily production reports; prepared daily call sheets.
Raised 30% of the production budget through independent networking.
Sourced all talent and crew; successfully onboarded each individual on set and ensured safety and use of best practices at all times.
Edited and delivered the short film's final trailer using DaVinci Resolve.
Worked in a high-pressure environment and took ownership of major challenges and pitfalls, providing resourceful solutions to all.
Key Challenges & Experiences:
Sourced all crew members and background extras; implemented innovative tools and practices to streamline the onboarding process and save several hours of production.
Worked closely with the Director and Producer to follow production guidelines, stay within budget, and maintain hold of the original creative vision.
Developed a 1-week production schedule for a crew of 10+ and a cast of 5+, organizing efficient transport and avoiding burnout.
