Krastie AI is an AI-powered SEO content platform designed to let users generate, edit, and optimize long-form content in a single workspace, combining a custom document editor with AI workflows and subscription billing.

⚙️ The Problem

Most AI writing tools focused on one-off generation. They lacked:

persistent documents,

real editing workflows,

and an end-to-end SaaS experience.

The challenge was to build a production-grade editor-centric SaaS, not a wrapper around an API.

Build a custom document editor with autosave and AI actions

Implement subscription billing with Stripe

Tailwind-based component system (no AI-generated UI)

MongoDB data models for users, documents, and plans

Custom WebSocket-based realtime syncing (pre-Convex/Yjs maturity)

Stripe Checkout + webhook-driven billing

Plan enforcement and subscription lifecycle handling

Verified email onboarding

Webflow marketing site + Figma-driven design system

Bot mitigation and disposable email blocking

🚀 Process

Competitive analysis of existing SEO and AI writing tools

💡 Key Learnings

Operating a SaaS is fundamentally different from launching one

MongoDB enabled early velocity but introduced long-term operational friction

Email deliverability and abuse prevention are critical infrastructure concerns

Real-time systems are significantly easier today with modern databases, but building one early provided deep architectural insight

Not every product needs a rewrite — freezing a system responsibly is a valid outcome
