An original animated short produced entirely with AI tools — from concept to final edit — with a handcrafted illustration style developed from scratch and maintained consistently across every frame.

This wasn't about picking a preset filter or dropping a style reference into a prompt. The visual identity — warm tones, ink-like linework, soft natural textures, that specific storybook-meets-architectural-illustration feel — was built intentionally, tested across different scene types, and refined until it held up whether the shot was a wide exterior or a close-up conversation. Getting AI to generate one beautiful frame is easy. Getting it to stay visually coherent across an entire narrative is the actual craft.

The full production pipeline was handled solo. Scripting and storyboarding came first, locking the narrative beats and visual pacing before any generation began. Production involved iterative AI generation — building each scene with precise attention to character consistency, environment continuity, color palette, and compositional flow. Every frame had to feel like it belonged in the same world, drawn by the same hand.

Post-production brought it all together: timing, transitions, sound design, and editorial polish built on years of professional editing experience in broadcast television. The result doesn't read as "AI-generated art stitched together." It reads as a cohesive animated piece with a clear visual voice.

The hardest part of working with AI in animation isn't generation — it's art direction. This project is a showcase of that discipline.
