UNHCR, the United Nations agency for refugees, ensures that everyone has the right to seek asylum and find a safe haven after fleeing violence, persecution or war in their country.

Since 1950, it has faced multiple crises on several continents, and provided vital protection and assistance to refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons and stateless persons, many of whom have no one to turn to. ​UNHCR has saved lives and built a better future for millions of people forced to flee their countries.
