Demo built on fictional data — no real pharmacy or patient data.
Pestle is an AI phone assistant for UK community pharmacies. A voice agent on Retell AI answers the pharmacy's phone line (Twilio elastic SIP trunk) in British English and says it is an AI on every call.
What it does
Answers only from the pharmacy's approved information. It never gives clinical advice, prescription status or stock.
A caller who asks for a person is put through at once, with no questions first. If nobody answers, it offers a callback, reads the number back to confirm it and queues it for staff.
Patient history is only read after name and date of birth match in code. Caller ID is a hint, never proof, and failed attempts are rate-limited.
Staff app: calls with transcript, AI summary and outcome, a callback queue, a patient timeline, reports and the cost of every call (Retell + Twilio).
How it is built
Each pharmacy is a separate tenant, enforced by PostgreSQL row-level security, so even a faulty query can't return another pharmacy's rows.
UK GDPR: configurable retention, erasure by anonymising, an audit log the application can't edit, and data-flow documentation for a DPIA.
Signed webhooks and tool calls; 94 automated tests.
