What if every construction project could instantly decode its own steel requirements? That’s the vision behind Steel Generation Automation—a web-based platform I engineered to bring AI-driven precision to steel element detection, estimation, and project management in the construction industry. 🔑 What makes this project unique? Users upload their PDF construction documents; the platform stores these securely in the cloud (AWS S3). As soon as files are uploaded, an AI-powered pipeline (using Google Gemini API) automatically analyzes drawings/specs to detect steel elements, extract material takeoffs, and estimate costs—no manual intervention needed. Real-time progress tracking, notifications, and a user-friendly dashboard streamline the entire workflow, from project creation to downloading detailed PDF/CSV reports. A built-in AI chatbot assists users with queries, while custom questionnaires enable tailored fabrication and installation estimates. 🌟 My contributions: Architected and implemented the full-stack solution (FastAPI backend, Celery, SQLAlchemy, AWS S3, Redis, Jinja2 frontend). Designed and integrated the AI pipeline for automated document analysis, steel scope extraction, and estimation using prompt engineering. Automated reporting and ensured seamless, scalable handling of large industrial projects.
