Venice Biennale 2025 Web Platform Design

Jacob Howard

I designed and prototyped a digital experience inspired by the 2025 Venice Biennale, translating one of the world’s most influential art and architecture exhibitions into an accessible, modern web platform. The project centralizes navigation around four main sections—Home, Art Biennale, Architecture Biennale, and Pavilions—with dedicated showcases for Germany, Uruguay, and Hungary.
The design emphasizes clarity and immersion, combining bold imagery with structured information architecture. Each page uses varied layouts to avoid repetition, integrating iconography, image and video galleries, timelines, and thematic callouts. For the pavilions, I developed concise narratives highlighting cultural identity, sustainability, and curatorial vision.
The homepage introduces the Biennale’s global reach through sections on the Giardini and Arsenale, while the Art and Architecture Biennale pages highlight current themes, installations, and experimental practices. Pavilion pages are intentionally shorter, spotlighting national contributions while maintaining a consistent visual style.
This project challenged me to balance content-heavy storytelling with visual design systems, ensuring every section was distinct but cohesive. I prototyped in Figma, focusing on responsive layouts and building a strong foundation for interactive navigation, all while incorporating original media I shot during my visit to the Biennale.
