Alpha - The Future Computer

In this project, the goal was to express in a sleek, dramatic video form the features of Alpha. The result is a thrilling ride through an alien planet, showcasing the laptop's gorgeous design and powerful microchip. With its powerful AX chip and sleek design, the Alpha laptop turns everything you know about computers upside down, creating a whole new and mind-blowing experience for the user.

The main issues in this project came from deciding on the best ways to approach its storytelling, How can we effectively communicate this, and how can we say what Alpha is clearly and invitingly? I explored a bunch of concepts. The first one was about the laptop being exciting in space and ending up on this alien planet, this idea was great, but the storytelling wasn’t great. Based on the advice and counsel of my mentor and friend Mike Jones, I explored using a concept that evolved around the alien planet and its unique property, which is the rock the microchip is made from.

I used Cinema 4d and Octane because of their versatility. Cinema 4d is a powerful tool, with many different things built in to produce the desired result. Octane is a render engine that uses the capacity of cinema 4d. The final renders were made without external composting. The assets came from Mega-scans and turbo squid. In addition, I did simulation work in x-particles, which makes up my pipeline for this project. It was very straightforward, making the scenes and directing the camera animation.
