Wrote back-end process that would boot a customer computer to Windows PE on our network. The process would then automatically search a database to see if it needed the customer image installed on that computer. After that step was complete, the process would then run a system scan to identify all computer components and amounts. For example, the type of memory and total amount of memory installed. After the scan was complete it would print out the scan to ship with the customer computer as well as put all the data into a database allowing us to track the computer identification via serial number and SKU. This process was used in disputes based on a customer complaint, saying for example they should have received 32GB of memory but, only had 16GB. We could look up the computer in the database and verify that it left our facility with the correct amount of memory installed.
