Sometimes words play a major role in describing oneself…

I was a small girl, sheltered by love in my small world,
Seeing stars and the moon up the plain sky, Knowing that they are nearby,
Dreaming up, reaching them, thinking that it wasn’t that tough,
I grew up, someone pulled me downwards,
They were all the restrictions that I faced as a girl,
Don’t go out, it’s too late,
Don’t dream too big, they made me believe in the fact that dreams also have boundaries and that’s my fate,
But I dumped all the thoughts as feminism came,
It was meant to give equal rights but I had no idea that to get those equal rights I had to change myself
They claim it was to make women stand out and in this way, we can conquer men,
How can I tell them, it was never to be as equal as men but that to have equal opportunities and appreciation for what we do,
As we have blurred our goal, the regime that was started years back for women’s rights is now a catch-22
And still, I hold back on my dreams…..
