This project is a reflection of my dedication to represent the Nigerian narrative authentically and provide a much-needed tool for Nigerian designers. As a Nigerian creator, I found that most existing stock image platforms did not adequately represent the Nigerian context or cater to the specific needs of Nigerian designers. My primary goal, therefore, was to craft high-quality 3D assets that accurately embody the Nigerian experience. Not only to enrich the diversity and inclusivity in the stock image world but also to equip Nigerian designers with the necessary tools to efficiently communicate their narratives, while maintaining global standards of design.
The journey of creating each asset was multi-faceted and required a blend of creativity and technical proficiency. The process began with the formulation of a visual idea tailored to the Nigerian context. Once the concept was conceived, the next steps were to model, light, texture, and render each scene using Blender.
Given the stringent standards of Freepik, a crucial aspect of this process was to ensure that all images were well lit and highly visible, adhering to the high-quality requisites set by the platform. A lot of attention was paid to the details, nuances and subtleties of lighting, texture, and angles to ensure the highest quality outputs.
Another significant aspect of the project was creating the images with user adaptability in mind. Knowing the end product would be integrated into diverse designs, I purposefully left large areas of empty space within the compositions. This offers users the flexibility to add text or other elements, facilitating a seamless blend with their unique design aesthetics.
