Misfit Moms Club is a comedic, character-driven content series built around the real, chaotic, unfiltered side of motherhood. I created a custom mom character (stressed, sarcastic, and relatable) along with her wild 4-year-old and eye-rolling 12-year-old.
Every character, scene, and visual was created from scratch through my own concept development and digital illustration workflow. No external images, templates, or borrowed ideas were used.
The result is a bold, cinematic, high-energy brand that resonates instantly with moms who live in the chaos.
The Challenge
The goal was to build a content series that:
Felt real, not polished or "Pinterest perfect"
Captured the humor and exhaustion of everyday mom life
Stood out visually on Instagram and TikTok
Delivered scroll-stopping relatability
Could be expanded into memes, reels, and community content
Most mom-focused content online is either overly curated or overly generic. Misfit Moms needed to feel raw, funny, and painfully accurate.
The Solution
I developed a fully custom character system featuring:
The Misfit Mom — tired eyes, messy bun, coffee in hand, doing her best
The 4-Year-Old Tornado — chaotic energy, constant motion, comedic timing
The Sarcastic 12-Year-Old — unimpressed, dramatic, and always over it
Each character was designed through original concept sketches, digital rendering, and iterative refinement to capture expressive, cinematic storytelling.

The visuals were paired with a brand voice that's sarcastic, exhausted, honest, darkly funny, and full of "only moms will get this" energy.
