I built Seal & Sign, a booking system for a fictional solo mobile notary business in Austin, Texas.
For a mobile notary, an open calendar slot isn’t necessarily an available appointment. The owner has to understand what the customer needs notarized, account for the number of documents and signers, check the customer’s location, estimate appointment duration and travel time, then coordinate a time and send confirmations and reminders. Doing that manually for every inquiry creates a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth.
Seal & Sign turns that process into a self-service booking flow. Customers answer only the questions relevant to their appointment, enter their location, and are shown times the notary can realistically reach based on existing bookings, appointment duration, travel buffers, business hours, and booking rules. They can then confirm their appointment without waiting for the owner to respond.
On the owner side, bookings automatically appear in a dashboard with the day’s schedule and route. An automation feed shows the work handled behind the scenes, while configurable rules give the owner control over availability, travel radius, buffers, notice periods, reminders, cancellations, and rescheduling.
The goal was simple: turn “Can I book a notary?” into “You’re booked” in about a minute, with as little manual work from the owner as possible.
