Problem

Our client NGO was concerned about saddening fact of food waste and hungery poor people at the same time. They needed a solution for funneling the excess foods to under-previledged people in the most economic and optimal ways. They had a great objective but almost no funding.

Solution

As a very first step, I decided to make an extensive and indepth discovery to understand thus problem and available options out there.
Our goal was to understand HMW differentiate FoodDistro from that of available options in the market so as to fill in the gaps between user needs and the market options.
Based on the intial reseach done by all teams in collaboration, I defined the scope of this product, plotted timeline for its development. We also prioritised to work on individual users first (rather tgan commercial ones) as a collaborative activity.

Decisions

I realized this is a genuine but very big problem and needs to be tackled step by step.
I created a product vision with a strategic goal of No food is wasted and tactical goals of addressing domestic issues first.

Product solution

Based on the research data, user interviews and analysis of the data, product vision was created. The user needs and opportunities for a new product were translated into key features and these were prioritised using different matrix methods and tools. I wrote details of user stories to define each prioritised feature so as to help development team design.
Note: This product is still under development.
