Alienation: An Experimental Short Animation

Alienation" is an experimental short film exploring the interconnected themes of understanding, empathy, judgment, and alienation. Through abstract visuals, layered soundscapes, and a fragmented narrative structure, the film immerses the viewer in the experience of feeling "othered." It reflects on how societal norms can lead to alienation and the longing for connection amidst disconnection. This short animation was fully created by me as I took on the responsibilities of all the illustrations, art direction, frame by frame and digital animation, and the sound design. No Ai was utilized for this project at any production step. This animation was my first short experimental animation and was completed in 2023. This project has been selected as finalist in 12. Canlandıranlar International Film Festival 2024, Gemlik Film Festival 2024, and as official selection at 2025 Filmmaker Sessions Volume 9 and 7th AFSAD Short Film Festival 2023.
