Beacon is a sustainable transportation app designed to provide real-time information on public transportation schedules, bike-sharing availability, and carpooling options for university students in the Washington, D.C. area.
Product Design Strategy
An audit of competitor transit apps in the Washington, D.C., area revealed a lack of accessibility and integration of transportation systems of all the local universities. There was a need for university students to be able to access their student public transportation cards from their phones and the ability to navigate the city with ease and efficiency.
Design Process
Supported by subtle and playful interactions to make the experience feel sincere and tangible, along with sustainability initiatives, the app design focuses on making our user's lives easier and helping students explore Washington, D.C.
