From indulging in little luxuries to treating others, shoppers were looking to make small changes with big impact and seeking moments of escapism after an emotionally draining year. We needed to scratch the itch to switch it up—but it needn't be daunting or break the bank.

How we did it

We positioned MADE as a destination for the best in bold, independent design by surfacing the designer/maker category across all of our channels. We created imagery that looks at the artistry of these smaller pieces from unique, unexpected vantage points. Surprising scenes, optical illusions, and stimulating creative treatment were paired with copy that amplifies MADE’s tone of voice, using playful double-entendres and a tongue-in-cheek approach. We also weaved in commercial messaging via actionable sub-lines that directed customers to discover our range of designer/maker products.

Goal

To introduce our new brand role as Makers of Original Homes. To make the MADE customer excited by the little things, the unexpected, and the fresh. To raise greater awareness of our designer/maker product range at a time when customers may be looking for lower cost, guilt-free ways to treat themselves and refresh their space. To illustrate a world of possibilities with just a thing or two, here or there. To educate the customer and encourage them to consider their items and how they interact with their spaces, their homes.
