The heart beats with a longing ache
For someone who will never be mine
A one-sided crush, a love mistake
A feeling that refuses to decline
I see you smile and my heart skips a beat
But you don't know how I feel inside
I wish I could tell you, but I retreat
And keep my feelings locked up, deep inside
I dream of the day when you'll feel the same
And we could be together, hand in hand
But until then, I'll keep playing this game
Of hiding my love, and pretending to understand
The longing for you consumes my soul
A fire that burns with a constant flame
But I know I'll never be made whole
Until my heart can finally let go of your name
So here I am, still longing for you
Hoping that one day, you'll see me anew
But until then, I'll keep holding on
To this one-sided crush, until it's gone.
