Evening Before Iftar

ahfie rofi

For Muslims, late afternoon in Ramadan is always a dramatic moment. After a whole day of activities with an empty stomach and a dry throat, the sound of the Maghrib adhan becomes the most awaited call. You can already imagine the first sip of cool water, the taste of fresh fruit as the appetizer.
And waiting for that moment together with family or friends makes it even more precious.
In this illustration, I tried to capture that feeling: three Muslimah friends with their pet cat, enjoying the joy of iftar. The warm, homely vibe is made even stronger with a touch of Japanese atmosphere—the tatami floor bringing out a cozy sense of togetherness.
I always try to keep my layers neat and well-organized—starting from the main illustration, foreground, all the way to the background. This makes it easier for me to adjust the artwork later, whether I want to turn it into a short motion piece or change the output ratio.
As you can see, I like grouping and naming my layers specifically, so it’s simple to tweak things whenever I need to.
By the way, here’s the initial sketch of this illustration along with the other formats I made for smartphone and PC wallpapers.
