DEPOIS DAS DEZ (After Ten O’Clock) is an original Brazilian mystery-thriller series from Beriky Studios, written and directed by filmmaker Mohamed Beriky, and created using Seedance 2.0 through CapCut Video Studio. Developed with the cinematic language and production ambition of a premium drama series, it combines police investigation, rural folklore, and social tension. The series set between Salvador and a remote fictional village in the state of Bahia, Brazil, the series gradually connects an unsettling local legend with a contemporary criminal investigation. This Episode 2, shifts the story to Salvador, the capital of Bahia, and introduces the investigative world of the series. Inside the police department, we meet Rita Moura, the firm and no-nonsense head of investigations, along with investigators Camila Rocha and Daniel da Silva, while beginning to establish their professional dynamics and Daniel’s meticulous approach to his work. A small but deliberate visual detail introduces the first mystery surrounding Daniel himself: he wears two wedding bands, unusually, one on each hand. No explanation is given. The detail is intended to raise a quiet question that will be explored in later episodes through Daniel’s personal life, his marriage, and the unresolved history and tension between him and his colleague Camila. Rita decides to transfer Daniel’s current investigation to Camila and asks Daniel to come to her office. The episode ends at that moment, before either Daniel or the audience learns the reason for her decision. In the following episodes, it will become clear that Rita reassigned his case to free him for a more important investigation — one that will ultimately take him to the village introduced in Episode 1. The series is structured as a gradually unfolding mystery. From the following episodes onward, new layers of the village, its inhabitants, the investigation, and the history behind the local legend are progressively revealed, alongside the personal histories of the central characters. The audience is kept suspended between supernatural suspicion and human explanation, while seemingly minor visual and behavioral details acquire new meaning as the story develops. The intention is not to rely on conventional horror, but to build tension through atmosphere, silence, behavior, investigative detail, character relationships, and the gradual collision between folklore and reality.
