The Poets' Shack

The Poets' Shack. North Bennington, Vermont. Created in 2013 by 30 community fiber artists to raise funds and awareness for a poet with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and "Be the Match" a bone marrow donor registry.
The Poets' Shack combined interactive digital media as QR codes printed on fabric and sewn into the handmade fiber arts quilt covering a tiny house made from found and repurposed building supplies scavenged from a 100 year old barn in Vermont. The QR codes on Poets' Shack linked to works by contemporary and classic poets who either donated or had in the public domain, their recordings, videos, and digital art as media for the project.
Inside was a lending library, a writing desk, working typewriter, magnetic poetry, and paper with which visitors could add their poems to the walls inside.
It was featured in the Tiny House Blog and by the Poetry Foundation as an innovative, creative, philanthropic, community art, and poetry project.
