We set out to build a product that helps people say “thank you” to other people, give and receive gifts, as well as get inspired by the good deeds of other people.
From time to time, we come across really good people who brighten our day, and add so much colour to our lives. More often than not, these moments are fleeting, and we thought it would be such a tremendous thing if we could collect those moments and even send an appreciation gift sometimes.
2 priorities we had were the ease of creating and sending a prop, and cheering users up by displaying good deeds on their timeline, with no social metrics whatsoever.
The good vibes timeline is the breath of fresh air everyone needs. On the good vibes timeline, moments of happiness and messages of appreciation are displayed here. There are no likes or dislikes because we didn’t want to draw people into chasing the dopamine hit that comes from social media numbers.
People are able to see props they have given and received. They are also able to see all the gifts they have received, and redeem them. In addition to all this, they can also reply a prop that has been sent to them.
We wanted sending a prop to be super easy and obvious, so we slapped a huge thumbs up emoji to the button, and it works like magic!
We set out to make gratitude cool again, and while this mission is yet to be achieved, the team is motivated every day by this it. Props will be available for download on the iOS App Store and Google Playstore by June 2024.
