Challenge

Agency sites and client landing pages change constantly, but classic CMSs either lock the frontend into their templates or send editors to a separate admin that looks nothing like the page. WeDo and partner agency Fullbrains wanted their own headless CMS for Nuxt 3: content stored apart from the code, a fast statically generated site, and editors who change texts, images, lists, SEO and language versions in place, then publish when ready.

Solution

WeDoCMS ships as a Nuxt 3 module with its own UI. Logged-in editors see outlines and floating toolbars on editable text, rich text (TipTap), images and collections, plus a dock for metadata and SEO, sitemap, language versions, common strings, preview and publishing. Content is typed by a schema, stored in Redis via redis-om and versioned as JSON Patch diffs; WebSockets keep editors in sync. Publishing triggers a GitHub Actions build that pre-renders the chosen version. I designed the architecture and led development.

Key features

In-place editing: text, TipTap rich text, images and collections with toolbars
Schema-driven entries, dynamic pages, URL slugs, SEO metadata and typed settings
Sitemap with per-language versions; common strings; preview mode
Redis storage with JSON Patch version history; realtime sync over WebSockets
Publishing via GitHub Actions; Cloudflare Images uploads; CLI for dump and migrate

Outcome

Built in three months; 240+ commits by a team of two; first integrated into WeDo’s agency site
