CASE STUDY

Celebrity Social Campaign

Cinematography • Video Editing • Creative Production

THE PROJECT

A collaborative social media production featuring Thea Tolentino and Socialisser, created as a cinematic short-form piece for social media.
The project brought together two on-camera talents while I handled the cinematography and post-production, translating the performance into a polished, social-first visual piece.
The goal was to create content that felt cinematic and intentional while still being native to modern social platforms.

THE COLLABORATION

The production brought together:

THEA TOLENTINO

Filipina actress and on-camera talent.

SOCIALISSER

A top 1% Contra member and creative collaborator.

MY ROLE

Cinematographer + Video Editor
I was responsible for capturing the footage and transforming the production into the final edited piece.

MY ROLE

CINEMATOGRAPHY

I handled the visual capture of the production, focusing on composition, framing, movement, and the overall cinematic presentation.
The objective was to make the performances feel visually engaging while giving the footage enough flexibility for a polished post-production workflow.
Key considerations included:
Composition Creating visually intentional frames around the talent.
Camera Movement Using movement to add energy and cinematic depth.
Framing Positioning the subjects to maintain visual hierarchy and storytelling.
Lighting & Environment Working with the available environment to create the desired visual atmosphere.
Performance Coverage Capturing the talent in a way that provided enough material for a dynamic final edit.

POST-PRODUCTION

After production, I handled the editing and transformed the captured footage into the final social media creative.
The post-production process focused on:
• Selecting the strongest takes • Structuring the sequence • Creating visual pacing • Timing cuts around the performances • Enhancing transitions • Sound design • Color correction • Color grading • Visual continuity • Social-first formatting • Final export optimization
The goal was to make the final piece feel cinematic without losing the immediacy of social media content.

THE CREATIVE APPROACH

The production was built around the relationship between performance and cinematography.
Rather than relying entirely on effects or heavy graphics, the visual storytelling was driven primarily through:

PERFORMANCE

The actors provide the narrative and emotional focus.
↓

CINEMATOGRAPHY

The camera creates the visual language around their performances.
↓

EDITING

The footage is structured to control pacing, attention, and progression.
↓

FINAL CREATIVE

The result becomes a polished piece of social-first cinematic content.

FROM CAMERA TO FINAL CUT

01 — CAPTURE

I shot the production with the final edit in mind, capturing footage that could support multiple pacing and sequencing options.

02 — SELECT

The strongest takes and most visually effective moments were identified during the editing process.

03 — STRUCTURE

The footage was organized into a cohesive visual sequence built around performance and storytelling.

04 — EDIT

Cuts, pacing, transitions, sound, and visual timing were refined to create a polished viewing experience.

05 — FINISH

Color correction, grading, sound treatment, and final formatting were applied before delivery.

THE RESULT

The final piece combines celebrity talent, professional cinematography, and social-first post-production into a single creative asset.
The production demonstrates my ability to take a live performance environment, capture it cinematographically, and carry the project through to the final edited deliverable.
More importantly, it showcases my ability to work alongside established talent and creative professionals while maintaining a clear visual standard from production through post-production.

WHY THIS PROJECT MATTERS

Working with recognizable talent changes the production requirements.
The content needs to feel:
Cinematic enough to represent the talent.
Engaging enough for social media.
Polished enough to represent the collaborators.
Structured enough to hold attention in a fast-moving feed.
That balance between production quality and social performance was central to the project.

THE TAKEAWAY

Great social content doesn't always require complicated effects.
Sometimes the difference comes from having the right eye behind the camera and knowing how to turn that footage into a compelling final cut.
This project brought together talent, cinematography, and editing to create a cinematic social asset designed for modern digital audiences.
Shot by me. Edited by me. Built for social.
