Contra V2 Launch Video Sound Track 2021

I wrote, produced and mixed a sound track that would make Contra's first launch memorable.

The original idea was to make a track that felt vibey but not overdone or too intense.

Overall we decided to go with a vaporwave soul sound and genre inspired by artists like Mxxwll and Flume. The vocals and samples were found on Splice and I used FL Studio + Waves to produce the track.

This was the final timeline before we passed the mix over to SFX.

The final mix was surprisingly simple, using only 15 different sounds and two automation tracks.

The colors and vibe worked well together and really brought the animation to life. The challenge was, the song could only be ~1 min long. Designing the initial outline was the hardest part.
