When the launch picture is fragmented, I do not take a team’s status at face value. “No dependency from my service” is a claim, not evidence — what matters is whether that team has actually exercised the scenario that would prove it, or is just assuming it from what they’ve tested before. An untested assumption like that is exactly how an unrelated-looking gap turns into a live incident later, so I chase the verification myself to prevent that gap from ever becoming one, rather than let a confident status report stand in for it. If something does slip through anyway, the first move is always to measure the actual impact — how far it reaches, who it affects — before deciding what to do about it; reacting before you know the size of the problem is how a contained issue becomes a bigger one. I am human and can miss things too; ownership means acknowledging that reality, continuing to look for what is missing, and staying responsible for end-to-end delivery when a mistake still happens.
