The Top 4 Apps to Help Improve Sleep
06/02/2024
“I get five hours and sleep just fine.”
“I need to be up early.”
I’ve always gotten little sleep; I don’t need to change that now.”
How many times have you told yourself this? We drink coffee, and Redbull, and chug five-hour energies like they’re candy. We can’t sleep because we can’t forget about the list of things we have to do the next day and there’s no way to shut our brains off. However, when we miss out on valuable sleep there are consequences we may not be thinking about.
According to Healthline, the average adult in the U.S. gets less than seven hours of sleep per day, and we need seven to nine to be healthy.
When we don’t get enough sleep, it affects our eating and exercise habits. We’re less likely to make the right food choices and exercise. We just eat whatever is there in the pantry or what we can get from the nearest fast-food drive-through, we skimp on our workout routines if we even have the energy to do them at all. It’s good to make good choices. When we sleep enough, when we eat right, we make noticeable improvements to our health and our lives.
That amount of caffeine we think we need isn’t necessary. You may be unsure about how to start getting enough sleep or worried about doing it on your own, but you don’t need to start without help. There are great apps out there that can help you start and stay asleep.
Here are some great apps that will help you to go to sleep.
The Best Sleep Apps
There are a few apps that can help you improve your sleep greatly:
1. I recommend SleepScore, a sleep tracking app. It tracks my nightly habits for me based on my sleep goals. Finding out just how little sleep you get will help you start working towards more sleep.
2. I enjoy Insight Timer; as mentioned in my previous blog post, there are great meditation apps out there that can help you wind down and fall asleep naturally. it has meditations for stress and sleep to help me wind down at the end of the day.
3. Breethe is a great app that helps you with not only your sleep goals but also your stress and anxiety so that you can tackle the things keeping you awake at night. It’s sleep hypnotherapy, hypnotherapy over an app may sound a little convoluted, but you won’t know if it works until you try.
4. Digipill is the only pill I'd recommend for sleep! It’s not technically a pill, it’s an app. It gives you a ‘prescription’ for your needs and then helps with your goals. Digi pills help you by going into your subconscious using psychoacoustics to help you with sleep, stress, confidence, and anxiety.
Let’s All Get the Sleep We Deserve
These are just some of the amazing apps that people use to help them get better sleep. You may not see yourself as a morning person but sometimes all we need is a little help to wake up bright-eyed and ready to start the day.
Using apps will be a great start for your sleep goals, you won’t feel like you’re going at it alone and you won’t be starting from square one. Not to mention an app can be there for you at night, something most humans can’t or won’t be willing to do. So, start with one and then see what other apps you like to help you get a good night’s sleep
