Python API Retries & Saved Progress — Local Demo

The problem
A batch script should not lose its completed work because an API briefly becomes unavailable. Starting the whole batch again can waste time and repeat requests.
What I built
A Python demonstration that fetches three records from a local test API, retries a temporary failure and saves each completed result to a progress file.
How it works
The test API returns a 503 error on the first request for the second record. The script retries, receives the record and saves it. Before fetching any record, it checks the saved progress. Running the batch again skips records already completed.
What I verified
All three records were saved. The record that initially failed succeeded on its second request. A second run made no additional requests because all three results were already present.
This is a local demonstration of recovery and saved progress. It shows the foundation I would use for a batch integration; authentication, rate limits, retry delays and the safety of repeating requests would be tailored to the actual API.
