Portugal Media Productions: A Film-First Website in Framer

Portugal Media Productions makes films and photography for brands across Portugal, Europe and the UK. Rhys and Andy asked for a clean, high-end site where the work speaks first, with typography set directly over video, like the KT Merry website they used as a reference. We designed and built the home page and contact page in Framer.

Designing around the footage

Three sections carry full-screen video with the headline on top: the hero, “Senior creative thinking” and “Make them feel”. A soft overlay keeps the Bodoni headlines readable on any frame, and the rest of the page stays quiet in their warm ivory and black palette, so the films stay in front.
The layout came first. The footage wasn’t ready at kickoff, so the first version went out the day after, on placeholders, for desktop, tablet and phone. Layout and pacing were agreed before a single real frame arrived.

Behind the scenes: preparing the media

The final footage arrived in 4K, with the header film alone at 190 MB. We re-encoded every film for the web without sound, took each poster from the film’s own frame, and set two films to alternate in “Senior creative thinking”, each playing to the end before the next begins.
The client logos came in mixed formats, some on white, some on a baked-in checkerboard. We rebuilt them in one colour so the moving strip reads as a set, and chose photography for the About, Photography and contact sections from their portfolio.

A site the team runs themselves

The team wanted to swap videos, photos and copy without a developer. On a single handover call we walked them through editing on the canvas, adding pages, and using the Framer agent for new sections and on-page SEO. The contact form now sends straight to their inbox, and the project lives in their own Framer account.
The contact block: one strong image on the left and the call to action on the right.

Portugal Media Productions launched with a site built around their own footage, and a team that can keep it current on their own.
