Shake It - Figma Makeathon Contest

We set out to solve a universal frustration: the wasted time and friction that comes from trying to decide what to eatwhat to watch, or where to go with friends, partners, or family. These small moments of indecision often drain energy and derail plans.

ShakeIt reimagines decision‑making as something effortless, playful, and beautifully intuitive. Instead of tapping through menus or debating options, users simply:
Shake their phone to instantly receive a curated suggestion tailored to their mood and context.
Explore categories using the wheel, a free‑movement selector that responds to touch with fluid, 360° motion.
This motion‑first interaction model transforms a traditionally tedious moment into a delightful one—removing friction, amplifying spontaneity, and encouraging users to be more adventurous.

Design Approach

ShakeIt was crafted with a focus on tactility, motion, and emotional impact:
Motion as the interface — Shaking becomes the primary input, creating a sense of physical engagement.
The wheel — A dynamic, exploratory selector designed to feel alive under the user’s fingertips.
Minimal cognitive load — One gesture, one outcome. No lists, no scrolling, no decision fatigue.
Polished micro‑interactions — Smooth transitions, responsive feedback, and subtle motion cues elevate the experience.
