Project Overview
Designed for Milano Centrale, Dance Connect Milano is an interactive installation concept that turns waiting time into a shared dance experience. It aims to reduce social distance in a transit space and create an accessible opportunity for intercultural exchange.
The touchless interface lets people explore dance styles through hand gestures, follow tutorials and receive real-time visual feedback through motion tracking. The playful journey moves from cultural discovery to performance without requiring contact with the screen.
At the end of the experience, content and QR codes connect the digital interaction with Milan's local dance communities. The concept combines interaction design, computer vision and visual communication to turn a temporary encounter into a possible local connection.
Within the team, I worked on the interaction design and creative development of the prototype, contributing to the touchless flow and interface design.
I prototyped gesture recognition, visual feedback and the journey from dance selection to tutorial, performance and sharing, using Figma, TouchDesigner, Teachable Machine and After Effects.
