Marvel Studios finds my music composition work and they reach out for a call.
On the call, they reveal that they're releasing a new trailer for a blockbuster movie. It's called, "Spider-Man: Something Else About Home".
“Noice.”
So ... I'm in the middle of the call with the Marvel representative. (Umm, let's call him Web-ster); and Webster says to me in a husky voice ...

Web: "Anyway man ... so for this film's first trailer score right ... we need you to find a way to emulate and incorporate the ol' 1967 Spider-Man Theme."
Me: "The one composed by Bob Harris & Paul Francis Webster?"
Web: "Yeah yeah, that's the one. We're going for that nostalgic but high tension superhero feel; with a relevant narrative."
Me: "You mean like something where the superhero is knocked down and struggling then the plot armour kicks in and the music swells?"
Web: "Yeah yeah'uh … you got it!"
Me: "Okay, hear me out. So … maybe it starts with a soft, uncoordinated piano to signify the uncertainty .. then steadily rises to mirror the return of Spider-Man's confidence right .. obviously based on Peter's predictable resolve to save the city against all odds .. for no other reason than the fact that he HAS to adhere to the old character development quote he heard as a teen—"
Web: "Well, wow! Actually, that's exactly what we were going for."
Me: "Awesome. We can always revise the direction after the first draft and see if it still fits you and the director's intention."
Web: "Sounds pretty swell kiddo."
Me "Web-tastic! So tell me more about the timeline and the your capacity for investment."
Web: "Mmm, I see what you did there with the—... Anyway, ss per our previous discussion, you'll receive half the deposit before you begin next Monday morning. For the timeline, we've got 2 months to have the third draft ready, so the editor's gon' need the first mockup in 20 days."
Me: "Okay. Say less my friend; I've got you. I'll prolly have it ready in 10, but don't you worry ... it'll be a banger."
Web: "Wonderful. Well, I'm sure excited to work with you on this one. I've heard and heard .. nothing but great things."
Me: "Ha! I'm flattered. Let's hope they didn't water it down. I have trust in our team to blow the roof off."
Web: "Gracias. Kav."
Me: "Ciao Webster."
