Whats Miloupaw
Miloupaw provides a private, safe, and loving environment for pets. The services are delivered by a team of highly experienced and qualified professionals. Like many existing service providers, miloupaw does not operate in bulk. Our care packages are customized to meet the individual needs of each client. We provide our clients' pets with a safe and loving environment. We begin our journey with a personal meeting. We prepare a custom care package for the client after meticulously examining the pet's needs. As a result, our clients won't have to worry about any nitty-gritty details. -Sanaz Hemmativajh
The Structure
Using React Native with the Expo client, it took about 3 part-time months to develop a customer-ready application for Miloupaw. The app uses MongoDB's cloud solution for the database, while the backend is powered by NodeJS and ExpressJS. Due to the project's low power requirements, cloud hosting was abandoned in favor of Linode Nodes for web hosting.
After evaluating several options, Stripe was chosen as the payment gateway. With plans to grow big in the next few years and hire more contractors to serve a larger client base, Miloupaw needed a way to handle transactions and payouts (to contractors) together. Stripe's connect solution was implemented, enabling all money-related activities throughout the app to be handled using their API and built-in SDKs.
Although they originally requested a simple website without any interaction, a solid foundation was established in case Miloupaw decides to offer services on their website. NextJS was utilized to accomplish this.
This project also utilized a new CSS framework called Tailwind. While I was initially hesitant to use any CSS framework other than native CSS or SASS, after reading numerous positive reviews, I decided to give Tailwind a try. The tool is perfect for someone like me who prefers to retain control over the CSS generated by the software. The benefits of this framework are noteworthy and deserving of their own post. As a friendly tip, combining it with Headless UI will elevate your code to the next level 🚀.
