Photography Project | We're All the Same On the Inside

Sarah Julianne Yap

In a series of seven clean, mininalist photographs, my final prototype seeks to convey a story of racial diversity and equality through eggs.
All photographs were edited in grayscale with the coloursplash effect applied only to the most important elements of the photograph which served a two-fold purpose. Firstly, directing the viewers attention to the central focus of each photograph. Secondly, playing on the notion of racial colourblindness as an ideology which posits that the best way to end racial discrimination is by treating individuals equally, without regard to race, culture, or ethnicity.
Despite different skin colours on the outside, we're all the same on the inside—human beings with complex thoughts, feelings and emotions who deserve to be treated equally with kindness and respect.
