Goal: Boost online sales during holiday promotional period
Strategy: Expanded keywords around gift buying keywords, holiday discounts, etc. Created dynamism ads tailored to their product catalogs and promotions. Targeted previous site visitors.
Results: Online sales during promotional period increased 19% YoY. ROAS was 4.2X.
The client sold a range of consumer electronics like phones, tablets, headphones, smart home devices, and more. Q4 holiday sales were critical for their annual revenue goals.
My approach focused on leveraging shopping ads and expanded text ads heavily during this period. I re-optimized their product feeds to highlight holiday discounts, sales language, gift-centric positioning, etc. This enabled the ads to showcase relevant products and deals.
For keywords, I expanded their targeting to include very specific gift-buying intent keywords around top products, like:
gifts for mom
gifts for dad
gifts for husband
stocking stuffers
top smartphones for gifts
best tablets for kids
affordable headphones for teens
etc.
These laser-focused keywords allowed the dynamically generated shopping ads to show highly relevant products to each search.
I also created audience targeting including previous site visitors, webpage visitors, remarketing lists, competitor audiences, and lookalike audiences. This further improved ad relevancy.
With this strategy we increased sales by 19% YoY during the holiday promotion. The ROAS was very healthy at 4.2X. It demonstrated how focused seasonal strategies, dynamic ads, and audience targeting can substantially lift short term revenue goals.
